How to Let Go of Trapped Emotions Using Emotion Code

When I recorded this episode, I hadn’t yet experienced emotion code for myself. It was still a new concept, still sounded slightly “woo woo,” and I needed more information. Even though my nurse practitioner recommended it to me during my well woman exam when I mentioned having past trauma, I brushed it aside. I can be skeptical when I want to be.

Coincidentally, a week before my interview, a friend of mine (who I very much trust when it comes to health) went to a local Emotion Code practitioner and had an incredible experience. So after this interview I decided to try it out for myself and scheduled a session with a local emotion code practitioner, Doni Rivers.

I was blown away by what was uncovered during my emotion code session. Within minutes, Doni had targeted two of my most impactful traumas in my life, and identified emotions I experienced during those traumas. I consider myself extremely in touch with my body at this point, after years of creating a partnership for healing. As soon as she named one in particular, I felt the energy of the stored emotions welling up in my body. I immediately started crying, shaking, overcome with what had long been abandoned in my body. That experience was unbelievable, but even more incredible was what happened in the following hours and days.

The rest of the day I was exhausted and drained, almost a hungover kind of feeling. But in the next few days, I experienced a lightness and freedom I haven’t ever felt. Spiritually, it was extremely eye opening. I didn’t realize I had a block in my prayer life. After this emotion code session, I felt I could approach my Creator more openly, realizing that I was seen. My pain was seen. My struggles were seen. My emotions were validated. And even though my conscious brain didn’t know these things were so deeply affecting me, my subconscious brain knew it – and so did my Heavenly Father. It gave me a renewed perspective of my purpose in the world and a kindness and self compassion I had previously shut down.

Since that experience, my husband went and had an extremely healing experience. We took our youngest child, Rhett, because we’ve known that he has struggled since we moved cities and away from family a little over a year ago. And because I know that so much of what is experienced from 0-7 is happening on a subconscious level, I wondered how this would impact him. I was blown away. In one session, he went from easily triggered, whiny, and cranky, to calm and chill. That lasted for weeks until his next session. During the session I saw how he shifted from being jittery and moving constantly to relaxed and focused. The fact that this was occurring for him on the subconscious level blew me away. I don’t know if child play therapy can achieve the same results. We took our middle child Roman, and he told us he felt so relaxed and calm after . He asks to go back!

So that leads me to this interview with Dr Bradley Nelson, to understanding the methodology and background on emotion code.

Because I believe so strongly that the body keeps the score and we must engage the subconscious mind and the entire body to process our trauma and stored negative feelings, I believe this is such a beneficial supportive tool to healing.
